Do not use Structure + Shine products alone, but only as part of a straightening service.
Wear gloves before performing the straightening service.
The Goldwell Structure + Shine straightening service is not recommended for afro hair.
1. Apply Dualsenses Deep Cleansing Shampoo.
Do not massage the scalp to avoid sensitizing it.
Rinse and towel-dry hair.
2. Spray Structure + Shine Optimizer to make hair more manageable and to even out the structure. Do not rinse.
3. Gently comb to detangle hair.
4. For sensitive, stressed, and porous hair only, apply Structure + Shine Protection with a brush, concentrating on the most damaged areas of the hair. Apply Structure + Shine Protection pure, not diluted with water or mixed with other products.
5. Using non-metallic clips, divide hair into 6 sections: nape right-left, parietal area (top of head) right-left, front right-left.
6. Using a brush, apply Structure + Shine Agent 1. Apply pure, undiluted and unmixed. Recommended dosage:
- Short hair - 80gr
- Medium length - 100gr
- Long hair - 120gr
Distribute starting from the nape, apply in thin strands (approx. 0.5 cm) and leave 1 cm untreated at the roots.
Cover with foil and leave on for 8-12 minutes.
7. To check that the hair is sufficiently relaxed and that the treatment has been successful, perform a knot test on 2-3 very thin strands in different areas of the head:
- Knot test - option A: Form a knot, then tighten by pulling to create a small loop (1 cm in diameter) and loosen the tension. If the knot remains closed, the hair is relaxed and you can proceed with the straightening service. If the knot dilates or opens, prolong the setting time and repeat the test shortly after.
- Knot test - option B: Roll a strand of hair over the tip of a tail comb and hold for 5 seconds, then release. If the curl remains, the hair is relaxed and you can proceed with the straightening service. If the curl opens, prolong the application time and repeat the test shortly after.
8. When hair is well relaxed, rinse thoroughly for 3-5 minutes and towel dry.
9. Apply Structure + Shine Optimizer to detangle hair and protect it from heat, comb gently to distribute the product as best as possible, then blow-dry hair, straightening it with a flat brush.
10. Divide hair into 6 sections for straightening with a flat iron. Set the flat iron to a maximum recommended temperature of 180°C / 390°F.
Reapply Structure + Shine Optimizer before straightening to ensure the flat iron glides easily and the hair is well protected from heat. Begin straightening with the flat iron starting with the nape sections. Always flat iron hair in thin strands (0.5 cm), from root to tip and holding the strand at a 90° angle to the scalp. Make 3-4 passes per strand and pay special attention to regrowth by flat ironing it more intensely. For a more natural result at the crown, work the strands in a zigzag.
11. Divide hair into 6 sections and apply Structure + Shine Agent 2 Neutralizing Cream with a brush. Apply pure, undiluted and unmixed. Always starting from the nape, apply Agent 2 Neutralizing Cream, section by section, from root to tip, to stabilize the style. Leave on for 5 to 8 minutes without heat source.
12. Rinse thoroughly for 3-5 minutes and blow-dry.
13. Tips for maintaining maximum straightening results
Within 3 days after the service: do not use hairpins, do not tie up your hair, and do not wash your hair.
Within 7 days after the service: do not use chemical treatments.

Straightening service + highlights
When color needs refreshing, the same procedure can be followed, replacing only step 11 ("Structure + Shine Agent 2") with a classic Colorance color service. Leave on for 15 minutes without heat source and then rinse thoroughly (3-5 minutes).
